Safety and Compliance Manager
We are seeking an experienced Early Works On-Site Project Lead to support a large-scale data center land development program. This role combines Construction Project Management and Construction Safety leadership, overseeing environmental mitigation and site development activities that prepare land for future data center construction.
The successful candidate will serve as the owner's onsite representative, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead onsite construction and environmental mitigation projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements.
- Manage contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Oversee civil/site development activities including earthwork, grading, excavation, vegetation clearing, wetland and stream restoration.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits, regulations, and mitigation requirements.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and implementation of site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct site inspections, EHS audits, and oversight of high-risk construction activities.
- Participate in project planning, safety meetings, incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and report project progress, costs, safety metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Construction Project Management experience.
- 5+ years of Construction Safety/EHS experience.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- Experience with civil construction, site development, earthwork, excavation, land development, or environmental projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance, permitting, and construction safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and contractor coordination skills.
- Previous experience in environmental mitigation projects.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and consultants.
- Knowledge of civil specialties including earthworks, stream restoration, and grading.
- Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to drive project delivery and ensure quality construction.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $175,000 - $195,000 USD. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
