FINANCIAL SPECIALIST

Financial Specialist

Serves as a financial specialist to the CMO on issues such as budgeting techniques, use of financial management products, resources distribution, program priorities and development of financial plans.

Administers the Defense Travel System (DTS) program and reconciles financial discrepancies.

Participates in the preparation of the financial plan which allocates appropriate funds to activities based on an analysis of activity budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding.

Provides financial services to include financial management, trend analysis, cost performance, budget guidance and advice to management.

Provides management with financial information such as financial reports showing the status of receipts, obligations and expenditures of funds.

Provides management with trend analyses of rates of expenditures, comparisons of actual performance to the financial plan and identification of variances.
