The Procurement Specialist supports day-to-day procurement execution in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This highly transactional role focuses on processing purchase orders, confirming orders, updating delivery schedules, and ensuring timely material flow to support production. The position requires strong ERP expertise, attention to detail, and consistent communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Create, send, and manage purchase orders within JDE and SAP ERP systems.
- Build and confirm orders while accurately updating delivery dates as needed.
- Execute high-volume ERP transactions with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm shipments, address delivery issues, and resolve discrepancies.
- Support production operations by maintaining material availability and adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor and track purchase order status to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Communicate order status updates and material availability to senior procurement staff and procurement leadership.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and prioritize procurement activities.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to track, analyze, and report procurement and vendor-related data.
- Contribute to vendor management activities by maintaining effective communication and supporting issue resolution.
- 14+ years of manufacturing buying or procurement experience.
- Strong ERP experience, specifically with JDE and/or SAP systems.
- Hands-on experience with purchase order creation, order confirmation, and delivery date management.
- Background working with MRP processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience sending purchase orders and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in executing high-volume ERP transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Vendor management experience in a procurement or purchasing context.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for procurement data tracking and reporting.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong execution and follow-through skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, transactional environment.
- Experience in manufacturing environments with material requirements planning (MRP).
- Ability to build and manage confirmation orders in ERP systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills in resolving shipment and delivery issues.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to support senior procurement staff and leadership.
This role operates in a hybrid work environment, with three days on-site and two days remote each week. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with flexibility for standard shifts such as 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m.4:00 p.m., or 6:00 a.m.3:00 p.m. On-site work takes place in an office setting within a manufacturing facility located in Wylie, Texas, supporting high-volume production activities through efficient procurement operations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
