Project Estimator - Project Estimator Principle - AEP Transmission Estimating Department
Responsible for performing highly technical estimates for Transmission line and substation projects in a safe, efficient and economical manner. This position is responsible for complying with defined project scoping and estimating procedures; gathering and integrating estimate and cost information to build & update master estimating cost models and databases; developing criteria for estimation and use of project and portfolio contingency; and working with project stakeholders (i.e. project management, engineering, planning, construction, contractors, etc.) to develop, implement and continuously improve scoping and estimating processes
Compensation: $73,828 - $92,284
Education & Experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management or related field of study PLUS a minimum of one (1) year of experience in engineering, design, estimating, project management, or construction execution.
OR
Associate's Degree in a related field of study PLUS 3 years experience in engineering, design, project management, estimating, or construction execution.

- Demonstrate an understanding of scope management.
- Be accountable for project assignments.
- Develop the skills of organizing project activities, delegating project task assignments, setting team requirements and expectations to manage deliverables, and holding team members accountable.
- Develop the ability to evaluate and determine the skill sets and capabilities needed of team members to assure project success.
- Develop a high level of proficiency and advanced knowledge of construction methodologies.
- Position may require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks and meet project requirements and schedules.
