$150K-$175K base + bonus + $350K-$400K+ long-term potential

VP Financial Advisor

A rapidly growing wealth management team overseeing approximately $3.5B in assets under management is seeking an experienced VP Financial Advisor located in South San Francisco or within a 25-mile radius.

This individual will primarily focus on generating new business by closing high-quality referral leads through established Custodian Referral Programs and marketing-generated opportunities. In addition, the advisor will manage and service an existing book of sophisticated high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Position Overview

This is not a pure financial planning role. The ideal candidate is a highly polished, growth-oriented wealth advisor with strong business development capabilities, excellent client relationship skills, and the ability to close affluent prospective clients.

This team is one of the firm’s fastest-growing offices and currently receives a significant volume of qualified HNW and UHNW leads. Due to continued expansion and advisor capacity constraints, there is substantial opportunity for long-term growth and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business through referral and marketing-generated opportunities
  • Manage and deepen relationships with HNW and UHNW clients
  • Deliver sophisticated financial planning and investment management guidance
  • Conduct client meetings and present complex financial concepts clearly
  • Build and scale long-term client relationships
  • Collaborate within a high-performing advisory team environment
  • Travel throughout the Bay Area as needed to support client relationships

Ideal Candidate Background

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Senior Financial Advisor
  • Extensive experience in financial planning and investment management
  • Strong business development and sales capabilities
  • Proven success managing sophisticated HNW/UHNW relationships
  • Experience building and scaling a book of business
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • CFP, CFA, or CPA designation required
  • Active Series 65 license required
  • Mandarin-speaking strongly preferred
  • Clean U4 with no disclosures
  • Credit score above 650 required
  • Demonstrated career stability with long tenures at prior firms
  • No significant employment gaps
  • Must reside within 25 miles of South San Francisco
  • Must be comfortable with an in-office environment and regional travel

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $150,000-$175,000, with potential flexibility for exceptional candidates
  • Discretionary annual bonus up to 20% of base salary during first two years
  • Significant variable compensation opportunity tied to lead conversion and production
  • Strong upside potential for advisors capable of closing and growing affluent client relationships
  • Long-term earnings growth opportunity estimated at $350K-$400K+ for successful producers
