You want to apply your strong mathematical and problem-solving skills at an industry leading financial services firm to address reserve valuation and modeling issues.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance or Business
  • Certified Actuarial Analyst (CAA) or intention to work toward this certification preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Excel (including Visual Basic), Word, and Access

The Purpose of Your Role

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will assist in the valuation of annuity and life reserves and related financial reporting requirements. This position will provide support to the Valuation Team on the following projects:

  • Development of Statutory, Tax and GAAP actuarial reserves using actuarial models
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reserve reports and annual statement reserve filings
  • Analysis of mortality and lapse experience
  • Determination of annuity death benefits
  • Assistance in the compilation of data for auditors

  • You have solid analytical skills, an ability and desire to learn actuarial concepts, and a strong work ethic, including the ability to follow-up, focus on details, take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Effective time management and organization skills, combined with an ability to multi-task
  • An eagerness to learn the complex world of valuation and financial reporting

  • Updating models in response to changes in the regulatory and product landscape
  • Assisting in the analysis of valuation results
  • Helping to establish and maintain a strong control environment around the valuation process
