About the Role:

The ICS Cyber Security Defense and Monitoring Group is looking for an Engineering Manager (Information Security) to manage a team of highly skilled team that performs engineering and operations in the areas of Data Loss Prevention, Secure Content Development, Threat Detection services, Threat hunting & Cyber operations and monitoring. This is a part of the larger team that together plays critical role in defending the organization from cyber-attacks.


The selected person should possess strong security operations knowledge at least two or more tools areas of - Enterprise Security monitoring, Data loss prevention, Secure Content development, Threat Hunting, Threat detection services and related tools, and be able to manage & guide a team of specialists in the area. The person should have had hands-on experience in at least two or more of the above mentioned areas in the recent past in his career. The person should be able to collaborate with the key stakeholders, understand the operations and project requirements and guide the team in India to accomplish the agreed outcomes in the aforesaid areas.

The person will work as a part of highly interactive team that is expected to identify issues and help the team take next logical steps in terms of:

  • Escalate to the right team.
  • Collaborate with other teams and act quickly on the information gathered/discovered.
  • Clearly understand the requirements and deliver projects in the above mentioned areas.
  • Able to report to management critical issues in a timely manner and help take quick decisions based on accurate data.

The person should also be able to:

  • Relate the work that is delivered to the larger organizational policies, control requirements and initiatives to accomplish the same.
  • Identify the required skills for fulfilling the deliverables in the required areas and upkeep the knowledge requirements from time-to-time.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives that help mature the knowledge levels of the TMs.

Drive and coach the team for high performance, Develop and maintain an accurate knowledge in the above mentioned areas.

Market Skills and Certifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant Technology /Engineering discipline
  • 12 - 15 years of information security experience with minimum 8-10 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in correlating the interaction between different security areas not limited to the Day to day SOC Management, Emerging Threats, Integrating new technologies into the SOC monitoring framework, , but other enterprise technologies as well.
  • Own and drive Continuous improvements to Monitoring process and technologies implemented
  • Delivery of projects/ operations with strong focus on quality and value creation for the organization/enterprise
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and program management skills.
  • Effective verbal, presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills.
  • Accountable for forecasting, capacity planning, building high performing teams and monitoring the success of integrated service delivery.
  • Coaching and performance management of highly skilled teams
  • Awareness of industry standards and best practices (NIST, ITSM, ISO27000, PCI)
  • Keeps abreast of latest information security trends specific to Banking & financial services industry and security as a practice in general - viz Security Orchestration & Automated response, Latest Threat landscape with respect to technologies,
  • Experience in global models, transitioning the roles from onshore to offshore
  • Experience of local talent market that he/she can advise the onshore teams to stand-up newer technologies.
  • Experience with global financial institutions

Desired Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications like: CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001:2013LA
  • Managed service delivery certifications like ITIL, Six Sigma will be beneficial
  • Information Security leadership experience in Cyber Security Operations and managed services delivery
  • Experience in technology consulting companies or experience in US banking sector is preferred
  • Awareness of industry standards and their applications to financial organizations.
  • Awareness about regulatory requirements for financial institutions and relate them to daya-to-day operations.

Leadership Expectations at Wells Fargo:
As a Team Member manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:
Lead a team supporting across multiple product or capability domains. Partner with business product managers, lead systems architects, and senior engineers and analysts to develop product functional and technical strategy for the domain(s), including development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps and shaping prioritized features. Oversee engineering and analysis teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities. Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of senior engineers and lower level engineering managers and assists in hiring top engineering talent. Collaborate within and across agile teams to design, test, implement, and support technical solutions, tools and methodologies. Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers. Support implementation of features spanning multiple teams for multiple product or capability domains. Partner with product managers to drive business outcomes. Ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met. Interface with third party vendors and technology service providers. May engage in external communities to support recruiting and development. May speak at a conference as a subject matter expert. Lead a team of individual contributor engineers and / or lower level engineering managers.
