Department Overview

The Enterprise Technology Infrastructure (ETI) team is responsible for enterprise-wide infrastructure services across the global footprint, including networking, production services, storage, data centers, mainframe, midrange and Cloud-based systems, distributed systems, and international infrastructure.

About the role:
Should be a strong individual contributor and be able to work with minimal direction in a matrixed environment, working with leading IT Vendors to resolve product issues and develop solutions to meet business needs in an IT support environment. This position involves the administration of HP Operations Orchestration infrastructure end to end where the enterprise level automations and deployments are orchestrated. This group is an expert in leveraging HPSA and HPOO to gain efficiencies for infrastructure management. We are looking for a high energy individual with deep technical skills and broad creativity around HPOO and HPSA Tools. Working experience on some of the new tools like Ansible and automation using python is required.Dedication to delivery and availability is a must, as is the ability to deliver on multiple work streams simultaneously. This position is ideal for candidates that prefer a highly collaborative environment with lots of ambiguity, working closely with deployment planners, OS engineers and Support teams. He/she must have the ability to adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner. This position is not for people that prefer individual contributions or 100% programming.

Essential Qualifications

  • 8+ HPOO experience
  • 5+ HPSA experience
  • 5+ years strong scripting experience in Python/shell/perl
  • 3+ years OS (Windows. Unix, Linux) support OR application development experience with at least 2 years hands on experience with Windows and Unix/Linux.
  • 2+ Relational Database (preferably Oracle) and SQL queries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in all mediums - phone, in-person, email, IM, working across several levels of the organization, participating group conference calls.
  • Prioritization, multi-tasking, autonomy, detail-oriented, collaborative.
  • Microsoft Office skillset (Excel, Word, Access primarily).
  • Experience with other Configuration Management tools like Ansible
  • Desire and aptitude for problem solving.
  • Positive attitude and willing to self-learn new skills as needed.

Desired Qualifications

Primary Skill: Strong experience in administration and usage of HPSA and HPOO tools and good Unix or windows OS administration skills. Excellent Knowledge in Scripting and OO Flow development.
Secondary Skill: Knowledge of SQL, OS administration and Remedy tool
Other Skills (Not Part of Standard Primary/Secondary Skills): ITIL, Change Management Process
Domain Knowledge: HPOO/SA & SQL

Market Skills and Certifications

  • HP SA administration and support experience
  • Experienced in performing upgrades, installation and validation of hotfixes in non-prod and prod environments.
  • Ability to run, troubleshoot and develop HPOO Flows.
  • Develop/Analyze scripts in various languages (python/shell) to support OO flow development.
  • Creates documentation for developed flows and scripts; acts as an internal consultant regarding use of SA, re-engineering to improve delivery, support and governance process execution
  • Able to write SQL queries to Insert, update and report.
  • Create, run, and troubleshoot HPSA related jobs like scripts, audits and software installs.
  • Provides technical expertise for issues and automation initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services
  • Basic to Medium level System administration experience in Linux and Windows.
  • Provides creation of diagnostic/simulations based solutions to maintain, troubleshoot and/or restore service or data to systems;
  • Able to create excel reports and leverage SharePoint for collaborating with both internal and external teams.
  • Hands on with Remedy tool and ITIL Process.
