The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices as well as online and digital channels.

This position is responsible for Self-Assurance activities in CORT. This position tests the work of the other employees in CORT to ensure the quality meets expectations. This includes writing quality narratives, assigning and managing action items to the managers, and conducting validations of those action items.

Key duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to:

•Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization, including the third party service provider oversight team, Centralized Operational Risk team (CORT), line of business partners, Control team members, Supply Chain Management, Wells Fargo Audit Services and other key business partners
•Ensure adherence to third party oversight requirements.
•Provide monitoring and communication of key deliverables and service level metrics relating to third party risk management.
•Provide ongoing evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, internal controls for CORT
•Identify, prioritize and escalate appropriately third party service provider management issues
•Manage adherence to all third party risk management program requirements including performance management, risk identification and risk mitigation
•Participate or lead special projects that include comprehensive risk and data analysis
•Work with CORT leaders, compliance, legal and operational risk teams, business partners to design and establish controls for programs or requirements
•Act as subject matter expert regarding all vendor requirements
•Issue resolution, communicate with leaders including steering committee members on the issue, corrective action and validation process to remediate the issue
•Research evidence provided by vendors to mitigate gaps identified through various control measures, and document thought process ensure compliance with requirements
•Act as liaison between vendors and Wells Fargo line of business to ensure effective communication of operational requirements or expectations

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management demonstrated through work or military experience

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Quality testing and/or monitoring experience, analytical experience, self-assurance activities experience.
  • Previous Third Party Risk experience or experience dealing with the legal process as it relates to third party.
  • Previous experience in Quality assurance or compliance testing.
  • Ability to determine and report priorities/metrics to senior management.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment.

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

IA-West Des Moines: Min: $80,500 Mid: $115,000
