Enterprise Risk technology has embarked on an ambitious Risk Transformation program and as part of that we're looking for a Software Sr Engineer Specialty (Calculation Services) who will partner with the key business, risk, and Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) leaders to drive all activities, including strategy, planning, and implementation of key deliverables for the Calculation Services group which focuses on Model development, testing, and deployment areas. Enterprise Risk CIO organization provides technology to several lines of business and is a 700+ person global organization. This team works closely with the Corporate Model Risk and Risk CoEs to ensure that the corporation meets its regulatory and compliance time-lines. This is a unique opportunity to make a huge impact to the Risk and Finance organization as various transformational projects are implemented.

Seeking a Seasoned Development Lead with experience in design, development of enterprise systems, and handling high volumes of data. Candidate will be part of the team which supports technology needs of Model Integration and Implementation for model life cycle activities like model development, testing, integration, production runs, and model performance monitoring. Technologies used are a suite of state-of-the-art Quant tools which include tools like Python, R, Spark, Scala, H2O, etc.

Responsibilities include:
  • Drives and participates in design, development, and implementation of large and complex application, owning your solution through implementation.
  • Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs, and that test plans and scripts meet customer needs.
  • Works with developers and business partners to understand application defects, performance problems, and data anomalies.
  • Creates a roadmap for implementation of various data preparation activities for model team and troubleshoots data questions.
  • Drives requirements and design discussions in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: securities, quantitative trading, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
  • 6+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design
  • 4+ years of experience with risk technology solution design


Desired Qualifications

  • A Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance
  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Basic knowledge of industry regulations related to building technological solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a quantitative development team about models and integration strategies
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management or quantitative modeling
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience
  • 5+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse and data analytics capabilities on big-data architecture such as Hadoop
  • 1+ years of ETL, data warehouse and data analytics delivery experience on internal or external cloud platforms
  • 2+ years of risk and finance regulatory reporting experience
  • Agile experience
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Experience articulating a complex problem, design, or build strategy
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
  • Ability to facilitate design sessions
  • Ability to gather and document technical requirements
  • Ability to identify, plan, and document system solutions that are cost effective and meet regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
