Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

This position is within the Business Execution Services team (BES) and will lead multiple strategic change initiatives aligned to the priorities of CIB and enterprise efforts. This work includes leading the definition of target state solutions in alignment with business objectives, driving decision-making, working with process owners to determine impacts and key deliverables, and leading execution of the delivery across impacted areas.
  • Responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of delivery for a set of complex change initiatives (plan, design, and execute). Change initiatives include, but not limited to: system implementation/upgrade, vendor assessment/selection, new product design, regulatory compliance and issue resolution, process improvement and redesign, international expansion
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results to meet business demand and expectations
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to obtain resources, influence outcomes, address conflict and ensure alignment with Wells Fargo strategy/policies and business line objectives.
  • Conduct requirement gathering and business analysis activities across multiple asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, etc.)
  • Responsible for full management over a set of project deliverables
  • Develop, implement and oversee governance routines for project execution, management reporting and business readiness
  • Ensure that change management (communication & training) and user experience (adoption) is a focus of every project undertaken
  • Responsible for pro-actively identifying potential risks when implementing change, along with developing a mitigation strategy and plan.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple functional areas (business, technology, risk, etc.)
  • Develop metrics and track/evaluate performance of projects, services and initiatives.
  • Work with impacted areas to understand complex problems. Focus on bringing issues and risks to resolution; identifying solutions and developing clear options and recommendations that drive decision making
  • Use problem solving skills to develop custom approaches and solutions (process improvement, change management, product management, projects, etc.) that are tailored to the problem
  • Provide subject matter expertise on applicable product, processes and applications and identify extensions of Corporate & Investment Banking capabilities to other areas
  • Possess detailed understanding of internal policies/procedures, leading process and change methodologies, regulation, support infrastructure complemented by a general capital markets skillset

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services demonstrated through work or military experience

  • 7 years experience of project management
  • 7 years of experience of 'C' level communication
  • Role requires knowledge of institutional broker/dealer trading practices across a vast array of products including, but not limited to, foreign exchange, fixed income, equities, and derivatives
  • Must have the ability to understand a broad set of capital markets businesses, market dynamics, and issues impacting a complex set of business activities and personnel
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously, effectively resolving issues and conflicts as they arise
  • Ability to lead large, complex, cross functional area initiatives and delivery teams in a matrix management environment
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners and project managers
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Ability to manage multiple or large technology infrastructure functions with a focus on driving complex projects requiring participation of cross-functional groups
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of change management, process improvement, product development and project delivery methodologies
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of a System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology and Agile methodology
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex IT environments: cross-functional areas, large number of interfaces and data sources
  • Working knowledge of Wells Fargo platform and relationships across the firm
  • Ability to effectively present to the target audience (technology, business, vendors, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Strong financial management, quality management, presentation and organization skills
  • Proven ability to foster a cooperative working environment across multiple work groups with contrasting goals
  • Ability to implement new standards quickly and efficiently with minimal impact to project deliveries
