Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Third Party Risk Management Oversight team, a group committed to providing Wells Fargo with world-class oversight of a global third party portfolio. The Third Party Risk Management Oversight organization is responsible for establishing the strategic direction and management of Wells Fargo's enterprise third party risk management program. The Third Party Risk Program Manager will join a high caliber Third Party Risk Management Oversight (TRPMO) team, challenging Wells Fargo's efforts to mitigate Third Party Operational Risk, while maintaining a strong operational risk culture, formulating risk appetite and tolerances, and executing on a program to identify, assess, measure, monitor, control and report on the enterprise third party operational risks. Consistent with other programs in Corporate Risk, this program provides independent risk management oversight (Second Line of Defense) to ensure an independent, integrated, and holistic view of Wells Fargo third party risks.

With knowledge of global third party guidance, this individual contributor role will engage with business and risk resources across all three lines of defense to develop, influence, and challenge third party risk management activities and decisions. With deep experience in program management, the TPRMO Program Manager will synthesize information from all TPRMO teams, to create program materials, executive decks, and leadership materials. Supporting multiple team members and managing though competing priorities, this team member will enjoy a variety of work designed to identify, develop, and track team deliverables against strategy, plan, and goals. Partnering with Internal Audit, Regulatory Relations, and Third Party Program partners, the TPRM Program Manager will lead and drive strategic initiatives to completion. This role will maintain and mature third party independent risk management coverage of activities, program execution, and alignment with regulatory requirements, contributing to independent oversight of the global third party portfolio and the frontline third party program.

Specific responsibilities include:

Third Party Risk Program Management
  • Leading third party risk management initiatives, including those that support regulatory expectations and guidance
  • Developing and maintaining TPRMO short and long term plans, tracking team deliverables against goals and strategy
  • Creating and writing governance documents applicable to global enterprise third party risk management programs and practices.
  • Preparing executive and committee level third party risk Power Point reporting including program results such as monitoring, oversight, assessments, targeted reviews, testing and targeted control evaluation reports
  • Researching, benchmarking, and analyzing data including industry intelligence to making recommendations on strategic plans and deliverables.
  • Developing practices, processes, templates, and reporting to provide independent risk management oversight and participation in critical enterprise programs or projects with significant third party providers.
  • Supporting multiple TPRMO team members and managing through competing priorities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the line of business, corporate regulatory relations, internal audit, operational risk and compliance peers. This individual is expected to build a broad range of professional relationships and effectively assemble and work with key stakeholders across the enterprise to help influence outcomes and drive decisions.
  • Reviewing and challenging systemic and manual processes, identifying and assessing risk, proposing new or evaluating existing controls for effectiveness. The individual's ability to de-engineering/re-engineering processes are needed to drive potential solutions, taking ideas from concept to execution.
  • Creating systems and processes to streamline TPRMO risk management efforts.
  • Quickly assessing issues that serve as barriers to the TPRMO team, enabling the team to operate at maximum effectiveness


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of third party rules and guidance across a variety of financial services regulators with ability to apply that guidance to sound risk management practices.
  • Business acumen to drive a big picture orientation and strategic execution of work priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important. Must enjoy ambiguity and variety in daily work.
  • Experience with regulators, and the presentation of materials within a regulatory context
  • Experience within second line of defense third party risk management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop written program materials, including summary level risk reporting
  • Expert understanding of regulatory expectations (e.g. OCC, FRB, FDIC, EBA, etc) for implementing a 3rd Party Risk Management Framework and the proper procedures for effective governance, monitoring and reporting
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts, and tell a crisp, concise story at a senior level. Must enjoy writing narratives, and creating Power Point decks.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
