VALIC specializes in retirement savings and investment products and services, including individual variable and fixed annuities, group retirement products, mutual funds, financial planning and investment advisory services and guaranteed investment contracts. VALIC has been in the 403(b) market since its inception writing the first K-12 403(b) programs almost 50 years ago.


VALIC Operations is an extremely fast-paced and dynamic environment and operates within a strong compliance and regulatory environment. The functions are high impact and include operations and service activities required to support plan sponsors in the administration of retirement plans such as plan implementations, transaction activities, reporting and customer contact centers

As a contributor at AIG you are the one the clients turn to in times of need. You act with speed, composure, compassion and knowledge to solve problems and the work you do every day is the heart of AIG's business.


  • Partners and development relationships with all internal and external customers to ensure needs are met based on segment model
  • Executes employer-directed/ plan level financial transactions (examples may include fund exchanges and de-conversions)
  • Responds accurately to assigned research requests via email tracking system within established timeframes
  • Proactively escalates and creates options for group issues on files, setup and processing phases
  • Maintains group data for assignments accurately and timely in the associated reporting system
  • Analyzes paperwork and sets up defined contribution plans based on system requirements
  • Loads files and data into applicable systems
  • Performs maintenance on group plans in the record keeping system
  • Audits participant records for accuracy of data load
  • Tests systems to ensure plan/participant level operations meet Group requirements
  • Enters data timely and accurately in various processing/informational systems as required to complete plan maintenance
  • Coordinates with fund and/or third party financial services companies for set up of accounts
  • Maintains and distributes fund updates and/or matrices to internal business partners
  • Processes plan maintenance on various data processing/informational systems
  • Interacts with fund company service contacts to resolve trading discrepancies and/or rejects as needed

What we are looking for


  • Bachelor's degree or four years of directly related work experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Ability to manage multiple projects as assigned
  • Knowledge of retirement or pension plans is preferred
