Group Retirement Overview

AIG's Group Retirement business, known as VALIC, is a leading retirement plan provider and a pioneer in the field, spanning more than half a century. VALIC works with hundreds of public K-12, higher education, healthcare, government, and other not-for-profit institutions to administer tax-qualified retirement plans, and offer flexible financial planning services and investment products. In 1964, VALIC was first to enroll a public school district in a 403(b) retirement program.

Our plan participants also benefit from access to comprehensive financial planning which combines the personal touch of a financial advisor with smart technology. This new type of personalized experience combines our traditional, face‐to‐face VALIC Financial Advisor model with a strong mobile and digital self‐service approach that better motivates and engages plan participants on their terms - anytime, anywhere, 24/7 - on any device they chose.

We work as a true partner to our clients. Dedicated relationship teams provide comprehensive plan compliance and recordkeeping expertise to plan sponsors while plan participants benefit from the most personalized retirement readiness experience—FutureFitSM. It stands for “Freedom. Individually TailoredSM,” and is woven throughout our digital platform, interactive tools and educational communications.
