Actuarial Associate/IT Tech Analyst - Life Core IT

Job Description

AIG is seeking a key person for its Life Illustration team. This individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing Individual life products in the Illustrations platforms used by agents in the field to sell Life insurance policies. The Illustration software calculates policy values projections according to policy holder's characteristics with a set of economic assumptions chosen by the user. Reprojection supports product illustrations for currently active and inforce policies.

This position works closely with Product development, Pricing Actuarial, Operations, IT Product, Distribution and Marketing. The position is responsible for reviewing and testing all products implementations. Software quality is important to a competitive market, an innovative and cutting edge Product development environment.

This role will be based in our Houston, TX campus.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical specifications and business requirements for new products and features to be implemented in the Illustration software and web applications.

• Developing software test plans while working with the Product, Pricing and Distribution Teams.

• Supporting UAT testing

• Gaining knowledge and understanding existing and new insurance products

• Developing an Actuarial roadmap for automated testing, manual testing, product testing and reprojection support.

• Working with Pricing, IT/Ops, Distribution, Customer Care on actuarial and illustration issues

• Troubleshooting, report, communicate and explain concisely values discrepancies across software components.

• Insuring accuracy of calculations and all values on all systems - Illustration and reprojection software and life policy administration systems.

• Providing excellent and timely customer support to Distribution, Marketing, Product Management and Product Development stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.

•Knowledge of Inforce Illustration is a necessity.

• Successful completion of 2 or more Society of Actuaries exams.

• 2 years or more experience in programming.

• 2 years or more experience in software testing.

• Understanding of insurance data and product knowledge of UL, GUL, Term, Index UL

• Ability to work well in teams.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Customer oriented individual providing strong customer service to stakeholders.

• Demonstrated technology skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or computer programming

• Strong problem solving skills.
