Responsibilities:


  • Review new and renewal policy underwriting referrals. Provide guidance, a decision, or timely referral to next level of authority
  • Work with Home Office Underwriting and Regional Underwriting to identify, develop/update and publish underwriting guidelines
  • Collaborate with Home Office and Regional Actuarial teams on rating tool development and implementation; work with key stakeholders to identify areas of rating tool improvement, training needs, utilization improvement, etc.
  • Support Regional Underwriting teams in achievement of shared goals and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Support the Home Office teams responsible for Peer Review and underwriting authority delegation systems
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of underwriting training material
  • Support Group PA and Personal Insurance leadership as needed
  • Review and track country compliance with global underwriting standards, adherence to improvement plans and underwriting audit action plans
  • Contribute to the Global Catastrophic Reinsurance program


Qualifications:


  • 5 to 10 years Personal Accident underwriting experience with the following: Group Personal Accident, Corporate Travel, Specialty Markets, Multinational, Individual Personal Accident and Supplemental Health
  • Technical complex case underwriting experience including:
    • Sound judgement and execution skills
    • Decision making ability with capacity to balance underwriting standards with market demands
    • Knowledge of basic rating
    • Ability to identify key points and clearly document the thought process
    • Experience developing and editing policy wording
  • Ability to fulfill on multiple deadlines from various stakeholders
  • Ability to apply influence to implement decisions and enforce company policies
  • Portfolio management skills and the ability to develop recommendations from the analyses
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in staying informed of issues that may impact the industry, clients and risk exposure
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Experience in multiple markets preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Bachelors' Degree required. Advanced degree preferred
