The Decision Science and Data Automation team's goal is to enable data to become a strategic and tactical asset by making it a fundamental utility. The team is tasked with designing, creating and deploying Portfolio Management tools that provide smart, real time and actionable insights to support data based decisions. In addition, DSDA supports modernization of Portfolio and Pricing Analytics using automation and process innovation leading to greater rigor, scalability and operational efficiency.


This position requires an understanding of data, systems and tools in the insurance / finance vertical. The incumbent needs to be able to operate and interact with individuals across different geographies and time zones. He or she will help support the data strategy and the data automation efforts across multiple regions.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Act as solution engineer responsible for the implementation of approved technologies that align with technical architecture, business plans and long term strategy
  • Help pilot new tools or processes that leverage technology to automate and seek to transform the insurance industry
  • Create what-if scenarios for the representation of underlying data using advance visualization tools and techniques
  • Make recommendations to improve process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide input to major architectural designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility with respect to overall system, technical and product architectures within Decision Science and Data Automation group
  • Work with IT, Operations, and others to improve or automate data processes
  • Review accuracy, consistency and applicability of department data usage
  • Guide the development of system, technical and product standards based on business plan and vision
  • Develop project plans (tasks, schedules, resource assignments)
  • Maintain documentation for projects

Technical Skill & Expertise:


Core requirements:


  • BS/BA Degree preferably in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams/projects and complex analytics projects (e.g., leading the conceptualization, design and implementation of complex databases)
  • Experience in information design and visual storytelling to craft the visualization of data and insights utilizing data visualization software/tools
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of drivers of risk / pricing analysis / value chain / KPIs for insurance / finance verticals
  • Strong process and systems skills and attention to detail
  • Functional knowledge of master data management, data quality, data security and privacy considerations

Other requirements:


  • Experience in the design, development, and administration of Data Warehouse including using ETL technologies like Talend, Informatica, Internet Data
  • Collection/Mining
  • Data model design expertise, System Architecture Design, Automation Framework
  • Design, Business Process Reengineering, Process Visualization, UE/UI Design, A.I. algorithm
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum and Software Development Life-cycle methodologies
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle, SQLServer, Netezza)
  • Hands-on experience reading and writing code with one or more high-level languages (SAS, Python, R, and Java) is a plus
