Sr. Application Development - Software Engineering Location: This position can be located either in Farmington, CT or Houston, TX Position Summary: This role is a hands-on design & development, working with both message based integrations. The role will be accountable to deliver designs & development of business applications, platforms and portals. Responsibilities Include:
• Analysis and Design of Application Interfaces & Integrations
• Analysis and Design of New Application Development & Refactoring existing
• Development of Specified Designs & Delivery of Integrated Unit Testing
• Maturing a DevOps methodology & continuous focus on improvement and RASP
• Maturing of Design and Development practices (TDD & Continuous Integration, etc.)
• Technical project leadership, focus on practical & effective Design & Development
• Training and Mentoring with Teammates continually looking to grow and mature the team
• Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies Agile, Iterative, Waterfall

Job Requirements:
The Ideal Candidate will have:
• Hands on working knowledge with Java/JEE/JSP and/or MVC.Net - 6+ years
• Hands on working knowledge with Relational Databases - 6+ years
• Hands on working knowledge with Dynamic Languages (Perl, Python, JavaScript, Ruby etc.)
• Strong Object Oriented Analysis & Design experience - 6+ years
• Hands on working with Java Frameworks Spring, Struts, Hibernate etc. or MVC.Net
• Experience or solid Knowledge of Mobile development for phones and tablets, Swift, Objective C, PhoneGap
• Knowledge of web services REST / SOAP (JSON, XML, XSD, XSLT) - preferred
• Knowledge of Data modeling and or ETL/ELT / Talend - a plus
• Knowledge of Big Data toolsets - NoSql, Hadoop, MapReduce - a plus
• Insurance knowledge - a plus
• Technical leadership to drive design and development tasks
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Hands on troubleshooting/problem solving experience
