Primarily servicing commercial construction clients (secondarily serving general industry commercial casualty clients) as well as supporting casualty underwriters (located primarily in the MidAtlantic Region of the Northeast Zone) in finding solutions to mitigate risk and to reduce claims, and in developing & implementing risk consulting services. The job duties include: -Conducting on-site surveys (primarily of construction clients but also of general industry clients) to evaluate loss potential and adequacy of existing risk management programs; recommending feasible methods of improvement; analyzing loss and exposure information to determine frequency and severity loss trends (current and future) for construction safety as well as for employee and third-party injury reducing safety techniques; working effectively with field personnel and field management as applicable. -Assessing needs for risk improvement of our clients and developing achievable and measurable client risk improvement solutions; delivering risk consulting services and solutions to clients that meet the strategic goals of clients, improve clients' risk profiles, improve clients' loss performance, and reduce clients' total cost of risk. -Conducting risk assessments/evaluations to assist underwriters with risk selection. -Assisting other AIG Risk Consultants with their clients' construction exposures. -Participating in marketing and training presentations to clients, insurance brokers, and underwriters as requested. All of the above responsibilities require preparing accurate detailed documentation of survey results and recommendations in accordance with company guidelines and communicating clearly and professionally with underwriters, clients and management.
-Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) -5 to 15 years of professional experience -Technically competent in Construction (or Energy) casualty risk exposures and controls (and/or the ability to quickly learn operations to service both industries) -Experience in general industry casualty risk exposures and controls -Strong knowledge of OSHA Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, construction technologies and practices, and enforcement -Familiarity with OSHA General Industry Standards -Certification in providing OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour construction training and/or general industry training -Strong analytical, strategic planning, risk management, and written and verbal communication and presentation skills. -Strong project management skills; ability to process multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work with limited management involvement -Adaptable to new methodologies and able to adjust to implementation of same -Previous experience as an insurance risk consultant/loss control engineer is desired but not required.
