This position entails providing risk consulting services in analyzing, evaluating, and recommending feasible ways to develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive loss control program (concentrating on the reduction of frequency and severity of claims) for transportation-related accounts as well as for fleet/auto related exposures for other commercial casualty accounts. Responsibilities will include: -Conducting technical surveys of clients to evaluate loss potential and adequacy of existing control programs; recommending feasible methods of improvement; analyzing loss information to determine future loss trends and what controls are needed by reviewing and analyzing the client's historical data -Developing achievable client improvement goals based on loss producing conditions and directed toward Profit Center service agreement objectives; guiding the client in methods of achieving the improvement goals with measurable results -Preparing accurate professional documentation of loss control services; communicating clearly and professionally with underwriters and clients and providing support for them -Implementing and monitoring total loss control programs for specific accounts as needed -Delivering marketing and training presentations to clients and underwriters as requested -Working effectively with account/client field personnel and field management as needed All of the above responsibilities require preparing accurate detailed documentation of survey results and recommendations in accordance with company guidelines and communicating clearly and professionally with underwriters, clients and management.
-Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) -5-15 years of professional experience in the transportation industry -Technically competent in transportation/fleet casualty risk exposures and controls -Some experience in general industry casualty risk exposures and controls -Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety technologies and systems, practices, and enforcement -Some knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards -Strong analytical, strategic planning, risk management, and written and verbal communication and presentation skills. -Strong project management skills; ability to process multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work with limited management involvement -Adaptable to new methodologies and able to adjust to implementation of same -Previous experience as an insurance risk consultant/loss control engineer is desired but not required.
