Position Summary


This is a hands-on role leading both infrastructure support and Business Configuration activities for ALIP. The position includes broad responsibilities and growth opportunities ensuring ALIP reliability, availability, and performance as well as driving delivery from an ALIP configuration perspective.



Duties and Responsibilities


  • Drive day to day ALIP infrastructure support by analyzing and resolving UI and batch issues
  • Support change management procedures, perform release installations, and coordinate DBA and MiddleWare support team activities required to complete deployments
  • Recommend solutions by analyzing issues identified by business teams and guide development teams in determining solution alternatives
  • Maintain high ALIP availability by monitoring application performance and addressing production accessibility and latency issues
  • Evaluate capacity requirements based on transaction and data volume growth and recommend options to ensure stable performance and availability
  • Support performance stress testing to establish baselines and validate viability of future releases
  • Review current state of AIG managed ALIP Business Configuration and drive maturity by identifying gaps, providing knowledge transfer to close gaps, and leading the team to improved self-sufficiency
  • Provide ALIP Product Configuration consulting support where needed
  • Develop deep knowledge of ALIP core database and query tables to address issues and provide data as required.
  • Manage collaboration with vendor partners and internal support teams
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members
  • Mature ALIP platform and configuration support by identifying automation or process improvement opportunities for deployment, monitoring, and system support.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and support audit reviews and DR testing
  • Provide training and mentoring to teammates

What we are looking for



  • Bachelor's degree and work experience in Application development / design, business analysis, or infrastructure support - 6+ years
  • Strong understanding of and working knowledge of relational databases - 6+ years
  • Knowledge of Linux, Oracle, and Java/JEE
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Languages (Perl, Python, JavaScript, Ruby etc.)
  • Knowledge of Integration Technologies DataPower (XS40/XI50), WPS, WTX & MQ
  • Insurance Knowledge
  • Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies including Iterative, Waterfall, and Agile
  • Excellent communication including written, oral, facilitation, and documentation skills
  • Hands on problem solving skills; Able to formulate creative solutions that are sustainable and forward-thinking.
  • Ability to make timely and thoughtful decisions with an understanding of when to escalate issues
  • Technical project leadership skills
