AIG is currently going through a modeling initiative to standardize and improve our current models used for CFT, ALM, IC, ICS, and many other. This position will work closely with current model owners, modelers, and stakeholders to help create requirements for these models as well as assisting in the testing of these models. The focus will be on Life Insurance although some involvement with annuities is expected when consistent assumptions are desired between the two areas. Assist with asset and liability modeling to support Life Insurance and Accident and Health business segment. This includes assisting with the model modernization project, Asset Adequacy Analysis / Cash Flow Testing as well as modeling for other regulatory or internal management purposes, including reinsurance treaty support. Provide support as needed to various stakeholders.
This role will report into the Vice President & Actuary Life Cash Flow Testing
and will be responsible for creating appropriate requirements for new models
and testing these models to verify accuracy. This role will support
projection modeling applications including Cash Flow Testing, ALM, Internal
Capital, budgeting, and stress testing. Role and Responsibilities will include
writing detailed specifications gathered from an understanding of how the
models should work, detailed testing documentation, and working with modelers
from the old and new platforms.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with GGY Axis or Prophet and
be knowledgeable in the actuarial modeling for US life. The candidate must have
excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with business
partners and business unit actuaries effectively. The successful candidate must
have a desire to improve process efficiency, appearance of final work product,
and model output.. Education An undergraduate degree is required.
This individual will be pursuing actuarial exams and be or be near Associate of
the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
Experience At least three years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience in the insurance industry. Significant experience with modeling. Comfortable working on ad-hoc
projects with ambiguous goals. Demonstrated success working in cross-functional
collaborative teams Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and data base software.
Actuarial competency related to valuation and modeling of life.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Desire to deliver a complete work product Highly motivated and results-oriented. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and across geographies. Ability to see the big picture on how models work.
