The Commercial IT Data Team is a horizontal function offering Data Architecture, Data Delivery, Data Governance, and Data Quality expertise to the Global Commercial Insurance business. The Data Management Technical Lead will play in integral role in driving the data standardization. The Data Management Technical Lead is a generalist position that will work within the Chief Data Office to implement tools and capabilities in order to meet Commercial's Data Management objectives. The role will require knowledge of, and experience with, tools and technologies to govern data in traditional and big data environments. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide insight and guidance into data strategy, data management, and stewardship needs to continue to build a data quality environment
• Lead research and implementation of Data Management methodologies, capabilities and tools
• Engage with various business lines and technology to research, define, and document proper governance and roles and procedures
• Lead the development and implementation of data governance workflows for the collection and management of business and technical metadata
• Implement technical data validation rules and define/maintain business rules for critical data elements
• Provide technical, analytical and strategic support for the creation of business rules, data dictionaries, metadata, data lineage flows, presentations and other documentation
• Partner with business and technology to identify and implement enterprise data quality initiatives and business process improvement opportunities
• Provide thought leadership and support on data usage, management, quality, strategy and stewardship related needs
• Implement and enforce data standards
• Understand data management standards and ensure data is fit for use

Job Requirements:
• 10+ years in management/governance related field
• 5+ years in financial services or related industry
• 3-5 years experience with Data Management platforms
• Strong knowledge and experience with HDFS and Hadoop-based data governance tools
• Strong knowledge of Data Management, Data Governance, Data Stewardship, and Data Quality best practices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's Degree preferred
• Knowledge of the financial services industry, asset management industry a plus
• Highly motivated self-starter, driven for results, effective at prioritizing and managing complex tasks
• Ability to query databases to analyze data sets
• Strong communication skills
• Strong work ethic; intuitive, and strategic thinker
• Ability to establish successful partnerships across business and technology
