Job Description

Transition Specialist position is a critical role and is responsible for supporting many of the firm’s business processes and workflows for IFS’s new hires.  The role delivers critical support to newly hired advisor and advisor teams. Other responsibilities include communicating regularly IFS senior management on issues.  Duties include but are not limited to:


  • Work closely with newly hired advisors, and internal departments to transition business and minimize issues with a high degree of customer satisfaction
  • Educate each new advisors and staff member on the policies and procedures of working with IFS, including required client account documentation
  • Visit new high profile producer groups and provide on-site training and consultation for producers/staff
  • Train new advisors on IFS’s  technology and clearing platforms
  • Serve as the main point of contact for new firms and provide proactive communication with each firm on a regular basis
  • Ensure all required registration and RR documents for all producers and staff are completed, guiding registration process through completion
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure efficient and accurate processing of transitioning account set up and transfer paperwork
  • Attend staff meetings and take part in the strategic planning of moving over transitioning advisors
  • Enhance and maintain all training materials necessary for new hires.

The Successful Applicant

  • 2+ years of financial services  experience with broad knowledge of the independent space as well as regional and wirehouse platforms
  • Broad knowledge of the Advisory (RIA) business, Insurance business as well as fixed income and general securities
  • Series 6 or 7 experience is helpful, ability to pass industry background check
  • Self Starter – looking to get to the “next level”
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and attention to detail
  • Strong flexibility and follow up
