If you don't like the employment numbers...just wait awhile. Government revisions have changed what we thought happened throughout 2010.
Revisions actually show the decline in jobs in Finance, Insurance and Banking weren't quite as severe as previously thought; some upward revisions for 2010 were as many as 40,000 jobs in a month. That being said, it doesn't substantially alter the fact that over 372,000 jobs were lost in these industries during the Jan 2008 to Jan 2011 period.
January's report of job growth totaling just 36,000 left economists as cold as the weather; which was promptly blamed for the lackluster month.
