The Team

The Fundraising organization within Fidelity Charitable is often the first call for all things philanthropic.  A Fundraiser is often the most visible face to both internal and external partners and donors of the organization.  As the largest public charity in the United States and an integral provider of philanthropic services and planning, Fidelity Charitable is in the unique position to enhance the personal philanthropic aspirations of the firm's donors and the thousands of charitable organizations they are passionate to support.  As a Fundraiser you will be responsible to consult with the advisors of current and future donors, grow the American tradition of charitable giving and protect the brand and mission of the organization.

The mission of Fidelity Charitable (FC) is to further the American tradition of philanthropy by providing programs that make charitable giving simple and effective. FC is a donor-advised fund program where donors contribute to FC, become eligible to take an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to be distributed to qualified nonprofit organizations.  Since 1991, FC has introduced tens of thousands of donors to the benefits — and increased charitable impact — of using a donor-advised fund to meet their philanthropic goals.

 

The Expertise You Have  

  • Proven sales or fundraising track record

  • Interest/exposure to philanthropy, charitable fundraising and planned giving a plus

  • 10 years Financial Service intermediary sales experience preferred (mutual funds, 401k, variable annuity wholesalers); estate/tax planning/trust experience a plus

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required, CFP and/or CAP preferred

  • Ability to adjust approach and messaging to the needs and nuances of different intermediaries

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills

  • Strong public speaking experience and skills

  • Strong time, territory management and organizational skills to maximize efficiency and productivity 

The Value You Deliver  

  • Building awareness and positioning FC products to financial, legal, and tax planning intermediaries

  • Introducing FC to new lines of philanthropy, including Private Equity, Corporate and others

  • Representing, building awareness, and positioning products within the Fidelity distribution channels

  • Developing ongoing, productive relationships with key intermediaries and Fidelity distribution colleagues

  • Evaluating, identifying and managing a prospect list to meet goals in multiple channels

  • Partnering with internal support team to develop a regional strategy for goal achievement

  • Leveraging marketing campaigns and collateral to deliver a consistent message to each channel

  • Meeting or exceeding stated territory goals

  • Using internal technology for client relationship management and activity reporting
