SmartSearch Help

SmartSearch is fully functional, ONLY IF YOU ARE LOGGED INTO YOUR BROKERHUNTER ACCOUNT.

Here is information about the Demo Mode:

If you don’t have an account or just want to demonstrate SmartSearch or to get a quick count of Candidates in an area, then you may use SmartSearch without an account or without logging in. (You will not be able to view any Candidate information or contact Candidates in the Demo Mode).

Live SmartSearch:

Login to your account and select SmartSearch from your Account Menu.

REQUIRED FIELDS:

A basic SmartSearch will require that you make selections in the following fields:

  • Candidate’s Desired Position - (the position(s) that the Candidate seeks.)
  • Candidate’s Desired Location - (the location(s) that the Candidate wants to work.)
  • Please note that while you can pull up candidate records for any position and/or location, you can only view and contact candidates for position types and locations for which you have posted a SmartAd.

For example, if you have a Registered Broker-Retail position posted in New York City then this is the only position type you can search for in this area. If you try to search in an area or position in which you do not have a posting then you will not be able to contact or view candidate information.

Next you can narrow your search using an additional location filters. The second filter on the SmartSearch screen is Candidate's Current Residence. This allows you to select only those candidates that reside in a certain geographical region; i.e. maybe you want brokers who not only want to work in New York City, but who also live in the area, (The City, Northern New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester, for example).

The next set of Optional filters we will discuss are:

  • Minimum Level of Education
  • Minimum Years Registered
  • Minimum Gross Production
  • Minimum Assets Required

When you make your selection remember that SmartSearch will select everyone that meets or exceeds the minimum and will exclude those below your selection criteria.

The next filter set is the Registration and Licensing section. Again select only mandatory required licenses in order to maximize your search.

Follow the next set of Optional filters let you drill down even further and can save you time:

Non-Confidential / Confidential Candidates - use this if you want to concentrate on just Non-Confidential only, for example. You might want to do this when you are prepared to telephone them directly.

Previously Viewed Candidates - Use this filter to exclude Candidates that you have already viewed. Use this to focus in on Candidates that you have not seen previously.

Candidates Previously Notified - This lets you pull Candidates that have not already received an email. Use this to see Candidates that haven’t received an email from you previously.

Once you have your selection criteria entered click:

Common Questions and Answers:

What is the difference between Confidential and Non-Confidential?

It is important to note that Candidates on our site are given the option to be confidential or non-confidential.

This means that Confidential candidates must be persuaded to release their contact information to you and the SmartAd/SmartSearch combination lets you contact them through our site to solicit their application to your job.

What is the SmartSearch Letter and how do I use it?

The SmartSearch Letter (email) is a customizable email message that is used to indicate your interest in a Candidate. The SmartSearch letter is particularly useful when sourcing Confidential Candidates. This is because you must persuade them to apply to your job and to release their contact information to you. It is important to contact these candidates with the use of your SmartSearch letter.

Non-confidential candidates have opted to have their contact info and their full Profile available to you through your SmartSearch. You can be proactive and contact them directly by email or by telephone.

The SmartSearch Letter can be customized to a standard recruiting letter and is sent to all Candidates that you select via SmartSearch with the click of this link you will see on the SmartSearch results page: "CLICK HERE TO NOTIFY ALL ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES OF INTEREST WITH ONE CLICK!"

How can I edit the Custom Letters?

You can edit your custom letters from the Edit Account tab. Just click the Edit Account tab at the top left of the page is an Edit Custom Letters tab. Go to this area to make changes to the letters. You can click here to go to the Edit Custom Letters page, as well.
